Recent legislative changes in JapanSouth Korea and Russia now require taxation for sales of digital products. At the same time, as we are expanding our US presence, products sold to Illinois residents will also be subject to tax. Avangate complies with all these requirements and we will begin tax collection and remittance starting January 1st, 2017.

 

Corresponding tax rates

  • Japan - flat 8% on all items, applicable for both B2B and B2C transactions.
  • South Korea - flat 10% on all items, applicable for both B2B and B2C transactions.
  • Russia - flat 18% on all items, applicable for both B2B and B2C transactions.
  • United States, Illinois - tax rate varies, depending on billing zip code.
